one of the many inconveniencies

I was nudged awake by a temperate morning sun from the most satisfyingly soundless sleep I ever had for a long time. Accompanied by rhythmic crackings of my heel joints and crisp chirpings of birds poking their feathers on the wooden beams at the opposite side of my bedroom window, I brushed my teeth with more toothpaste than normal, feeling really optimistic about the day. Then I turn the tap...rotated it all the way to the end, and - u must have guessed already - no water at all.
I "smiled" all the way downstairs (you don't close your mouth when you have a mouthful of fluorine, do you?), grab some boiled water and guggled.
I didn't worry much about it at first, I thought this problem could be fixed in a snap when I called up our neighbourhood maintenance. Apparently the case lies between the pumps and our pipes. "There's something wrong with the pumps that are supposed to carry water from the tangki to your house," the maintenance guy explained, "I'll call the contractor to repair it on Monday." I gaped - Monday? you mean, no water at all for the whole weekend? oh great~
I know this nothing compared to the six-month drought experienced by the Aussies or the persistent dehydration emaciating indigent Africa or the disease-infested water in war- or disaster-torned places. But a darned-lucky-urban-brat like me finds this temporary water cut-off -'arrgh!'- restricting and utterly irritating! No washing, no flushing(the loo)...no immediate access to water supply. Just for a bath I had to walk that 20 minutes to the community centre and walk back all sweaty again!
In the end though, there's no use complaining...haha~
