Messing up - the Nature

Well, I'm not alone.People had been, for a millenia, modifying God's creation into something that appease themselves. If compared by scale, what I had done was almost nothing......
It all started from being 18. Being 18 is intoxicating, like being drugged or drunk(not that i have ever tried alcohol or morphine or anything). 18, to Malaysians, is the symbol of liberty. And so, I bleach my hair, a physical signal yelling:"Yo - I'm 18, just let me into the cinema!"
I went, with my mom, to a plain, white-washed salon known simply as S&MUnisex Hairsalon, tucked above Sinma Accessory Store in Section 14. There were only two middle-aged hairstylists here, one in a white blouse and another in a white skirt, and two young assistants. The one in white blouse' hairstyle is cool, to me, its light but not flimsy, and it exudes agility, a I-am-not-all-girlie-but-also-not-all-tomboyish stance. I'm not stale or unimaginative or a copycat, it just occured that THAT hair might suit me.So I said, " Auntie, I want your hair." She said okay and snip, snip, snipped away...
Then her asst. squirted shampoo from a tomato ketchup bottle on my head. She gently massaged my scalp with the balls of her fingertip. I had to mention how she washed my hair because it contrasted with how I washed my hair. What i did, ALL THE TIME, was rake my scalp as if i'm scrubbing moss and fungus outta coarse brick walls. Just realized how brutal I was to my hair.
Prior today, I had never sat in a salon for 2.5 hours straight. I actually felt my bum going square thanks to the perfectly flat chair. A handful of my hair was painted and wrapped in aluminium foils. Then I sat there and wait nervously as the black keratin up there morph into something else within their metal cocoons......
